In this video listen to Numbers 12 read by David Alley, followed by comments and prayer.
In Numbers 12 we hear that Moses had an Ethiopian wife, and it's a bit surprising. Josephus tells us her name was Tharpa. Previously when he was serving Pharaoh in Egypt, Moses had gone on a military campaign to Ethiopia and conquered. He had taken a princess to be his wife.
Now Moses’ family complains about him, but it is really an attempt to make themselves more prominent. This chapter explains what happens with this. Notably it includes Moses’ own statement about how humble he was.
What is humility? Can someone say this about themselves and still be humble? This video is going to answer this question with a yes, and explain why.
God then got very angry with Moses’ family when they complained against Moses, but why? Because it was effectively complaining against Him. When we complain against God’s leaders, it is a complaint directly against the Lord. Leaders have faults, but God uses them anyhow and their weaknesses can be a great highlight to God’s strength.
This chapter is a lesson in humility and thankfulness
What would have happened if the people had thanked God for Moses? Watch the video and learn.
