Christs Messianic Reign in 4 Psalms

This message by John Alley explores the question as to when Jesus began to rule and reign as Messiah on David's throne. John presents many Scripture verses from the New Testament which all point to the fact that as soon as Jesus was resurrected, he was given all authority and power -- in short, Jesus ruled at the right hand of God from that very time. John then goes on to draw strong parallels between Daniel's revelation (Dan 7:13) and Revelation 5:1-10, both of which indicate that Jesus, once slain, rose again and was found worthy to open the scroll and to reign. John then goes on to quote four Psalms: Ps 2, Ps 22, Ps 72 and Ps 110, which also strongly reveal the rule and reign of Christ.

Victorious Eschatology in 4 psalms

The Psalms are full of the Glory of God, and in this message John Alley walks us through 4 Psalms which speak to a glorious way of seeing the end times. The world is not going to get worse and worse, and conclude with a dismal ending and the return of Christ. Among other scripture, these 4 Psalms show us that Christ is going to conquer, it is going to be a Victorious Eschatology. This message was preached in General Santos City, Mindanao, Philippines.

The Coming Of The Light

Historically, in the Church there has been 3 ways of interpreting Scripture regarding last days events, says John Alley as he commences this message. Describing the different attributes of the Pre-millennium, Post millennium and Amillennium opinions, John states that since the future is still in the future, no one knows how events will unfold. It is fine, says John, to lean towards one theory or another, but we must not become so rigid in our opinions that we deny truth. John goes on the explain a fourth view that held popular sway in America for some time, Dispensationalism. This teaches, amongst other things, that Israel will be reestablished, the Temple rebuilt and the Levitical priesthood restored. This is an affront to the blood of Christ and an offence to the cross, says John. Jesus did a complete work on the cross, and to suggest that the old system of sacrifices that His death and resurrection did away with must be restored is foolishness. John explores Matthew 24 in part, promising to return to the subject on future Sundays.
