Blackall Visit September 2025

Blackall Visit September 2025

To be held in the highest esteem are those who live sacrificially for the sake of the gospel.  Such people are found in the unlikeliest of places all over the world, including in a Western Queensland town called Blackall.

It was our joy to take a team of 11 people on September 26-28, 2025 to visit Pastors Jason & Elizabeth Bearham at the New Beginnings Church in Blackall.  They are people of high integrity, committed to Christ and living in a remote part of Australia not for personal benefit, but for the purposes of Jesus.  Their church is healthy and doing well, and the Lord is at work there.

Our group of people from Peace in Rockhampton visited to pray in the town with them, and to help take a service on Sunday morning.  Our goal at Peace is always to serve and love others as though they are more important than we are, and in Christ this is the case.  Others take first priority.

For many years Peace has used the Acronym STIHL to remind our people that we are here to Serve, Teach, Impart, Honour and Love.  These five qualities are all to be directed at others.  We are not here to lift ourselves up, but to lift up others for the sake of the Kingdom of God.

But in visiting Blackall last weekend, it was apparent that we also were blessed by our visit.  We may have in fact come away with the greater blessing of seeing what God is doing in Western Queensland.  He is at work in remote places, in the hearts of people, bringing life to those who are thirsty, and some who didn’t know they were.

Our calling, (and yours) is to participate in what God is doing.  And if you are reading this post, take a moment to pray and bless the work of Christ in Blackall, Queensland.
