28 Nov The World 1000 Years From Now
In the second Back to the Future movie by Steven Spielberg, set in 1985, the protagonist (Marty) travels into the future to the year 2015.
It’s interesting to see how people in 1985 envisaged the future in 2015 – just 30 years ahead of them. They envisaged hoverboards instead of skateboards, and holographic advertising, but didn’t see smart phones, the internet, or social media coming, which have been way more significant both in good and bad ways.
What about the world 1000 years from now?
The chances of accurately knowing what technology and society will be like that far into the future, are obviously low, but taking into account things I have read in the Bible, I’ve written a novel set at about 3200 AD.
I’m fairly certain I will be wrong about at least some aspects of the technology, although my novel has some pretty amazing tech in it. You’ll find private mind conversations between people. Future humans have the entire internet in their thoughts, and the ability to share emotions with people so they actually feel them too. There are pain sticks, gilltech suits, and translation pairs that beam people between two locations instantly. So no more walking to school.
Be careful when someone hijacks the other half of your translation pair and puts it somewhere random, like in the toilet.
I’m probably wrong about a lot of the tech, but I’m certain in myself that I’m NOT wrong about where society is headed, which is into stronger and stronger faith in Jesus.
How can I be so sure?
Why don’t you read my novel and see for yourself.
