What Reading the Bible Does

What Reading the Bible Does

I was recently asked if I had read the Bible completely through, and if so what was my impression.

The answer is yes I have, many times.

But I have also made a video on every single chapter of the Bible, and that included me reading it out loud, so I can also state that I’ve read the Bible out loud too, with the exception of the book of Job where I had help.

Here for example is my Matthew 1 video

In not just reading but studying the Bible so as to explain it to others I concluded the Bible is a book that maximizes its returns. With most books you don’t read them a second time, but if you do you don’t get a lot more out of them, and the more you read them the less you get.

With the Bible it is the opposite, the more you read it the more you get, and in fact your returns increase – they maximise. But the Bible is also to be read like you are searching or hunting for God. When it is approached in that manner, you see things and find God in there in ways that you don’t when just casually reading.

Sometimes people hate the Bible and they read it in order to find things to use to attack God. People will always find something if their purpose is to be critical, but if your purpose is to find God, you’ll be amazed that He is there in the pages of the greatest book of all time.
