28 Oct Visit to Turkey
Over the last few weeks, David and Jared have been in Turkey. The goal was two-fold. Firstly to pray for the spiritual needs of this land with so many Bible connections, and secondly to do some video blogging and recording for the Youtube.
Spiritually, the land of Turkey is steeped in Christian history. It was the place where in Antioch, ‘the disciples were called Christians first.’ (Acts 11:26) Later Paul planted churches in Galatia, and later in Ephesus, and more. All the seven churches in Revelation are also in Turkey. However even Old Testament sites are in Turkey. Noah’s ark of course was at Mt Ararat in eastern Turkey, near the border of Mt Ararat. In south central Turkey is Urfa, suspected by some academics to be Ur of the Chaldees where Abraham originated. And just to the south of Urfa is Haran, where Abraham did live, and where Jacob spent 20 years of his life and married Rachel and Leah.
But the land of Turkey has also been ruled by countless empires over the years, each with their gods and idols. The spiritual history of paganism is thick. It is a land which today is filled with both Muslims and secular people. They need our prayers and love.
David and Jared spent time visiting some of the Bible locations and have filmed content for 12 chapters of the book of Genesis. You will be able to see this content on this channel starting in March, 2026.
