03 Nov The Path Before You
A plane has a flight path which is set. It also has a runway, a determined place to land. Are our lives like that? Is there a path determined for us to fly along, and a place determined for us to land at?
Here is what the Bible says:
‘Since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance, the race marked out for us.‘ Hebrews 12:1
According to the writer of Hebrews there IS a path marked out for us to follow. However it is our choice whether we follow God’s plan for our lives.
A plane does have a flight plan, but it can change direction. Sometimes a pilot will leave the path, such as in the case of Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 which left the path and disappeared from radar never to be seen again. Often leaving the path is not a good choice.
What is God’s plan for your life? Will you set your eyes on Jesus and follow him. Even if he takes you through a storm, or through difficulties, knowing He is with you will help you through those challenging times.
If it is God who has determined a path for our lives, then following his wisdom gives the best outcome for our soul, and for the kingdom of God. We can trust Him, knowing that He knows best. Sometimes He will lead us ‘through the valley of the shadow of death,’ but in that place, ‘we will fear no evil because his rod and staff comforts us.’ Psalm 23:4
So let us ‘Fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and completer of our faith.’ Hebrews 12:2
